long do I have to wait before being seen?
![]() We usually try to make an initial appointment for a consultation with a counsellor/psychotherapist within one to two weeks of your phone call. 2. Can I be seen at home? We usually aim to see people at our premises in Frogmore Street. However if a client is too ill to attend then alternative arrangements can be made subject to discussions with your counsellor/psychotherapist. These can be made at home, hospital or hospice. 3. How much does it cost? We are a registered charity and all of our counselling and psychotherapy is completely free of charge. However we do welcome donations however large or small. For further details of this please see how you can help 4. Can I be seen with my partner? Yes. We are now able to offer our service to couples as well as individual counselling and psychotherapy. 4. Can I arrange an appointment outside of office hours? Counselling sessions can be arranged outside office hours by appointment. 5. Does The Harbour have wheelchair accessibility? The Harbour has wheelchair accessibility and disabled toilets. However please telephone for further details. 6. How do I make an appointment? Please telephone 0117 9259348 between 9.30 and 5.30 Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours there is a 24 hour answering service. 7. Are all your counsellors/psychotherapists experienced and qualified? The Harbours counsellors and psychotherapists are all professionally trained and particularly experienced in working with issues of death, loss and bereavement and are all trained and adhere to The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Code of Ethics and Practice. The Harbour also offers supervised placements for counsellors and psychotherapists in advanced training. 8. Is the service confidential? Anything discussed in the counselling sessions is strictly confidential. 9. Where are you situated and is there parking close by? We are just off the centre of Bristol so it is easy accessible and on most main bus routes. We are situated at 30 Frogmore Street, opposite the Ice Skating Rink and Bristol Academy. A large multi-storey car park is situated almost opposite The Harbours premises. Alternatively there is a car park to the rear of the Council House, a short walk away. Click here to find us. 10. I am travelling from outside of Bristol, how do I find you? Rail (Temple Meads): You can catch an 8 or 9 bus from directly outside the Railway Station to the bottom of Park Street and we are only a 2 minute walk from here. Bus Station: We are only a short walk away (approx 10 minutes). Park and Ride: The Park and Ride service is available from Portway (Shirehampton), Long Ashton and Bath Road (Brislington) directly into the centre of Bristol.
